Accommodation

 

The accommodation at Photo Model Holidays consists of an extremely comfortable self contained, air conditioned, holiday apartment furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The apartment is very spacious and is provided on a self-catering basis only.

Wi-Fi is available in the accommodation together with a good mobile telephone reception.

The accommodation is provided as part of the whole holiday package. Should a visiting photographer wish to stay in a local town during the holiday period, or other alternative accommodation as opposed to the studio complex, this we can help to arrange. The cost of the alternative accommodation will be at the photographer's own expense. Travel to and from any alternative accommodation to the course shooting locations is solely the responsibility of the visiting photographer. There is no discount given for not using the accommodation provided. Local hotel accommodation is excellent and extremely economical.  

 

"Poolside" Apartment

 

The apartment, 'Poolside', is the primary accommodation for the visiting photographer guest and is located adjacent to the pool and the poolside trellis area that is covered with grape vines and other climbing plants and flowers that provide the shade for dining 'al fresco'.

 

'Poolside' can accommodate three people, with two single beds in the large double bedroom and one single bed in the single bedroom. The double bedroom opens onto its own private terrace through French windows giving access directly to the pool, the single bedroom also overlooks the pool.

The very large kitchen/dining area with an integral lounge similarly opens out through French windows onto the pool. The kitchen is provided with a full gas cooker, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, etc. A luxury bathroom complete with corner bath, w.c. and vanity hand basin unit completes the facilities.

The apartment is fully equipped, including all linen, cleaning materials, shampoos, shower gels, etc. and has TV and DVD players together with a very comprehensive photographic library. The adjacent utility room provides full laundry services.

 

Pool Area

 

The pool area consists of a beautiful set-in-the-ground 8 metre swimming pool surrounded by a stone terraced area with, on one side, a raised shaded terrace overlooking the pool. The pool area is completely enclosed providing a suntrap for the visitors with total privacy from anyone outside the complex. Potted palms, grapes and various flower vines entwine and drape themselves over the raised trellis to provide shade and colour to the surroundings with the rose and flower beds adding the finishing touches.

Guests

 

Photo Model Holidays anticipate that some visitors to the Advanced Level holidays will wish to bring their partners or friends on the holiday too. This is totally acceptable and guests, who must be at least 18 years old on arrival day, will benefit from the reduced price. The whole complex and swimming pool area are available at all times for guests use, although guests must be aware that when the pool and poolside locations are being used for a shoot, they may have to move out of shot as required.

Guests will be welcome to accompany the visitor on most of the  outdoor location shoots, transport space permitting, but as the holiday programme is totally dedicated to ensuring the visitor meets the shooting programme's requirements and deadlines, it is regretted that guests are generally not allowed to attend any of the studio/indoor location shoots, or photograph the participating models during shoots, as it would inevitably divert the focus of attention from the production team, models and photographers.

During the studio and indoor shoots, staff of Photo Model Holidays will be taking record photographs for the participants as part of the project. Guests are not permitted to take photographs of the models at any time without prior approval of the Production Team.
 

Should guests get bored with poolside life or wish to pursue their own activities, the Black Sea holiday resorts are within 1 -2 hours easy motorway driving depending the choice of area. Closer to home are the towns of Sliven and Yambol, both within 30 kms, where there are many shops, restaurants, museums etc. In the village itself, there are many very safe areas to walk where nothing will be heard except birds, the breeze and the 'clong, clong' of goat bells. A walk along the river will provide many interesting forms of geological activity. In the peak of the summer, the river dries up in most places and creates a 'wadi' similar to the jebel areas in the Middle East. A ride around the hills on a horse drawn working cart is also available for a small charge for the adventurous.
For a quick Bulgarian style fast food experience, a number of small restaurants are available within 6-7 kms at the bottom of the mountain.

Guests space is not available on an Entry Level holiday when two people make a joint booking but is available to a single booking photographer. Contact us about such availablity.

 

Weather

 

The weather and climate in Bulgaria during the holiday period are superb with lots of sunshine and very little rain. Temperatures range between 30º - 40º degrees as the spring progresses into the summer and begin to cool down from mid-September to approximately 20º - 25º. Conversely, winter temperatures can be as low as -20° C with snow falls over 1.5 metres at times.

For guests, Sedlarevo village, in its basin surrounded on three sides by mountains, experiences slightly lower temperature than the local towns on the plain below and benefits from the higher altitude, (454 metres, approximately 1500 feet), with mild breezes making the location an ideal place to relax and soak up the atmosphere, catch up on that book you always promised yourself or just lie in the sun.

 

Trips

 

Sedlarevo Village and the surrounding area are extremely picturesque and safe to move around. Horse driven cart trips into the surrounding hills and vineyards with Xilasko, a local character, can be arranged very cheaply. Trips into the local towns of Sliven and Yambol can also be arranged for guests if required.
