Latex in the Street

There is something special about Latex wear that creates all kinds of feelings to the viewer. It is like Marmite, in that you either love it or hate it. Some people believe that there is a seedy, fetish side to latex, whereas others see it as beautiful fashion wear which even the Kardashians have adopted and paraded in public. Therefore, to walk out in the street with a model wearing a catsuit made from skin-tight, clinging, shiny latex surrounded by a photographic team with all its gear can be quite a nerve wracking experience for a photographer who has never experienced such a photo-shoot before.

Our Latex in the Street project, as it says, gets us into the street with our own "Latex Queen", Marilyn, as the model who, with over 13.5 Million views on her Latex Channel, is no stranger to modelling or parading in latex wear in front of the general public.  This is a very special project and, on every occasion attracts a tremendous amount of attention and curiosity and is, no doubt, a major test for the photographer.  Fully aware of this, the team will be on hand to guide the photographer through the shoot.  A new project last year, our regular visitors loved it and made great images.

Latex photo-shoots in a sunny street are very specialised requiring good lighting techniques to soften the light on the open side of the street with diffusers, speed-lights, high-speed sync, etc. whilst on the shady side of the street, diffusers, reflectors and fill flash become the main order of the day.

The images below by visitor Robert Skears utilised all the techniques detailed above during some horrendous lighting conditions in the centre of Kotel and an ex-communist storage depot nearby.
